Honest Questions & Straight Answers

We want you to feel completely informed and at ease before you book or visit. This page exists to provide clear, honest answers so you can understand exactly what to expect and focus on enjoying your creative journey from the moment you arrive.

F&Q

Who are the creative sessions for?

The sessions at Wren & Bramble are designed for any adult who wants a relaxed, supportive space to explore their creativity. We welcome everyone, regardless of their previous art experience, providing a calm environment where you can slow down and focus on creating, connection and wellbeing.

Do I need to be 'good at art' to join?

Not at all. We value 'process over product,' which means we care about the act of creating and how it makes you feel, rather than what you make. There’s no judgment here, and being a beginner is perfectly okay, in fact, we love welcoming new creators.

What happens in a typical creative session?

Each session is two hours of unstructured, gentle time. You’ll be warmly welcomed into the space, where you can choose from a range of rotating materials. You can explore, learn a new skill, or simply enjoy the materials at your own pace with a warm brew by your side.

Are there accessibility and sensory considerations?

Yes, accessibility is very important to us. Our space is ground floor with direct parking access. We keep our groups intentionally small to ensure the space remains quiet and sensory-friendly. If you have specific needs, please reach out so we can ensure you feel comfortable.

How does pricing work and what is included?

Our session fees cover the full two hours in the space, access to all basic creative materials, and refreshments. We believe in being honest and upfront. There are no hidden costs or 'top-up' fees for the essentials. Everything you need to enjoy the session is provided. There are some items such as using a larger amount of clay or painting on a canvas that would reqire an extra cost but we keep things as affordable as possible.

What happens if I feel anxious or need a break?

Please know that you are never trapped in a session. You are free to take a break, step out for fresh air, or simply stop what you're doing whenever you need to. Our staff are trained to be kind and understanding, and we encourage everyone to honour their own pace and feelings.

Can I come to a session on my own?

Absolutely. Most of our visitors arrive solo. The quiet, creative nature of the space makes it very comfortable to be alone amongst others. You can be as social or as private as you wish; there is never any forced interaction or pressure to chat. We also run specific 'Silent' Sessions during the week to completely eliminate this worry.

Can I bring something I've been working on to the session?

Of course! We love seeing a piece of work develop over several sessions, weeks or even months. Some people start painting with us, then take it home and add to it and bring it back a following session to add more. All we ask if that you don't bring something in that could potentially be hazardous to others or require the use of extra ventilation. If you have any queries about this, please ask in advance. While we always try to be accommodating, we must take the health and safety of all our visitors seriously,

Does this session work as therapy? If I need support can you help?

While the sessions contain therapeutic elements, we are not a therapy and must advise that if you are struggling, then speak with your healthcare practitioner. There are many different types of support out there and we're more than happy to signpost appropriately to either online or more local, in person support.

The Heart of Our Space

Inclusion & Belonging

Everyone is welcome here, exactly as they are. Our space is a community-owned space built on the belief that creativity is for everyone, regardless of background or ability.

Process Over Product

We value the joy of making more than the finished result. It's about the feel of the brush and the flow of the afternoon, not the masterpiece at the end.

A Calm, Respectful Sanctuary

We cultivate a quiet, gentle environment where you can slow down. Respect for the atmosphere and each other allows everyone to create in peace.

Welcoming Beginners

No experience? No problem. Curiosity is the only requirement here. We love helping people rediscover the simple pleasure of playing with materials.
